OPSEU opens new office in Timmins

The union’s two top officers were on hand Sept. 19 as OPSEU opened its new office in Timmins, serving members in northeastern Ontario.

“This is an indication that OPSEU will always be well-represented in Timmins,” said President Warren (Smokey) Thomas. “OPSEU has always pressured the province to invest in the North.”
First Vice-President/Treasurer Patty Rout , who oversees OPSEU’s office buildings across the province, was on had to cut the ribbon., along with Timmins Mayor Tom Loughren .

The new office, located at 414 Algonquin, is twice the size of the previous Timmins office and features a large membership meeting room. OPSEU has 2,400 members in the Timmins area.
