OPSEU has always been a union with a deep commitment
to quality public services and fair treatment for all working people.
Our campaigns are an expression of that commitment, whether we’re
fighting for clean water, safe correctional services, accessible
education, progressive labour laws, or high-quality public health care
services. Fighting privatization is an important part of our work, as
is our battle for adequate funding, sufficient staffing, and decent
wages and working for all who provide public services. We campaign
because we care!

the lowest bidder. The door has been opened for the private
ambulance companies to make a
profit out of saving people's lives. Find out more

Workfare Under
the Conservatives, welfare is no longer a right for people in need
and between jobs. It’s become workfare, a program that punishes
people in need and provides a pool of cheap labour to threaten and
undermine union jobs.. Find out more.
Young Offender
Facilities Privatization The provincial government is committed to divesting the young offender facilities
that are operated directly by the provincial government. We believe this move compromises
the care and custody of our clients and the safety of our communities. OPSEU is
fighting these divestments, and continues to do so, for our members, our clients, and our
communities. Find out more.
